The perspectives of school leaders and teachers on the exclusion process
The B2 work package examines school leader and teacher perspectives on both formal and informal approaches to school exclusion across the four jurisdictions of the UK. In each of the core schools participating in the study, we will conduct interviews with leaders and focus groups with teachers.
This will involve exploring how and why students are excluded; the different types of exclusions that are used in schools and why some students are more disproportionately represented than others in official exclusion figures. Additionally, we examine the challenges associated with leadership in this context and the types of resources that are needed in schools to support students and teachers.
