Examining school exclusion policy levers, drivers and legal frameworks across the UK jurisdictions.
This part of the project involves a systematic analysis of school exclusion legislation and policy across the UK jurisdictions.
With a particular focus on identifying similarities and differences across the UK jurisdictions, we are also examining policy changes over time and how school exclusion sits within wider, connected policy areas such as youth justice and inclusion and diversity.
An up-to-date, multi-disciplinary analysis of school exclusion legislation and policy allows us to identify the key political discourses underpinning the exclusion landscape alongside the key policy levers at national, local and school level.
